Pond Stocking

Arkansas_Pondstockers-June_2009

Fish Wagon comes to our store several times a year bringing a supply of fish.  They offer competitive pricing and a nice variety of fish.   They will only be here 1 hour so you have to arrive during the scheduled stop time for your fish.  Hertzlers do not hold the fish for you to pick up later.

Fish Wagon will  provide carrying containers.  They only accept cash or checks-no credit cards.  You will pay them, not us.  Local orders can be placed with Hertzlers (804-598-4021).

If you are not in our area, you will need to call Fish Wagon to find where they come that is close to you. 800-643-8439.

Note: Hertzlers are not responsible for the quality of fish, pricing, or availability of fish. We are simply a drop point for Fish Wagon.

Prices and delivery dates (as soon as we know them) are on our homepage under “Events and Specials”.  They come approximately once a month April-September.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR TEMPERING FISH

Temper fish before releasing to avoid shock due to temperature difference.  Open bag(s) add one quart of pond water at a time, wait 3-5 minutes then continue to add pond water-one quart at a time, until the temperature of the water in the bag and the pond are the same.  If so, you can release the fish into the pond.  If not, continue to add pond water to the bag of fish until the water temperature is equal.
